Setup guide
Creator
The Creator is the interactive tool your guests use to build, evaluate and refine their own creation, from your component library. The video shows a coffee-blend Creator built end to end; the steps are written out below it.
Creator walkthrough, 6:41, subtitled.
Choose your craft and build the library
- In bocky, open Creator and choose your craft: distillery, tea, perfume, wine, candle, coffee, or build your own. bocky adapts the language to fit, from perfume formulas and materials to coffee blends and beans.
- Add your components. Enter them yourself, or start from the pre-built libraries at bocky.co/components. For coffee there are nearly 10,000 specialty beans from 584 roasteries; find your roastery, tick the beans you want, and save the selection.
- The saved roster comes back as a component code for the app or a CSV file. Import it in Creator setup.
- bocky shows every imported row as a draft before anything is saved. Review names, internal references, customer-facing tags, flavour sliders, visibility and stock. Check the flavour axes; they drive the live profile your customers see.
- Choose tracked or untracked inventory per component. Tracked components count down automatically as customers use them; enter what you have on hand and bocky handles inventory control and reorder planning.
- Untick anything you don’t want to offer, then add the rest to your library.
Build the customer experience
- Step 3, Build the Creator. Preview the whole experience before anything goes live: the landing page, the builder itself, and the live flavour profile that changes with every component added. Desktop and mobile views are both generated using your craft’s terminology.
- Set the starting rules: minimum and maximum components, the unit of measure, and whether customers must choose a primary component.
- Happy with the preview? Approve it. Recipes your customers build are saved to their Shopify account so they can reorder or modify them later, at a price you set.
- Step 4, Where customers create. Online through Shopify, where you make their creation and ship it; in person at the bench as part of a class booking; or both. Pick the checkout product.
- Step 5, Review. Names set, components live, pages ready, checkout connected. Everything stays private until you activate; preview it, test it, break it, fix it first.
Wire the storefront
- Open the theme editor on the Creator product template and add the Booking Calendar block to connect the in-person experience.
- Hide the quantity selector and Shopify’s standard buy buttons on this template; the page sells seats, not units. Drag the calendar wherever it reads best.
- Optionally add the Customer Experience Links block, normally on the logged-in customer account page. It gives customers quick ways to create, book, or return to their saved details.
- Every colour, heading and label is editable in the block settings. Restyle, reorder, and save.
Test it
- Open the live Creator page. Real components, photography, tasting notes and flavour profiles are generated from your setup.
- Build a creation, book a session, and check out. Seats update in real time and Shopify handles payment; the recipe and booking land in your admin beside the order.
